Natalya Getman was born in Russia. She was a gymnastics champion by the age of ten and studied dance at the Leningrad Academy Choreographic School (Kirov Theater) under Kovaleva.

In 1993, Getman graduated with honors from the Uzbek Choreographic School under Inna Kevorkova's instruction. Upon graduation from the Uzbek School, she joined the Turkmenistan State Theater of Ballet and Opera where her repertoire included:

  • Zarema (Fountain of Bakhchisarai)
  • Lady (Lady and a Hooligan)
  • Queen of Dream (Don Quixote)
  • Mirta (Giselle)

Later, in 1995, Getman joined The Moscow Ballet and worked with such famous masters of ballet as Ludmila Semenyaka, Mikhail Lavrosky, Anatoly Golovan (Bolshoi Theater) and Galina Shylapina (Perm Theater). Again, she was a soloist in such repertoires as The Swan Lake, Paquita, Nutcracker, and The Golden Key.

In 1996 Getman began touring with the Moscow Ballet to countries such as Turkey, Spain, Israel, and China. In 1999 she came to the United States of America with the Moscow Ballet to dance and teach choreography to local children in over 50 U.S. cities to allow them to dance in the children's roles with the visiting company when they travel with the Nutcracker to their city. During this time she also became a model and spokeswoman for Ford, Mercedes, Hopman Jewelers, Seng Jewelers, AIDS, M.A.D.D., and Lord and Taylor.

Summer Intensive Program Faculty

Elena Petrichenko and Sergey Chumakov are both graduates of the State Academic Choreography Institute in Perm, Russia, where they majored in the Classical Choreography section.  Their early work included the Moscow State Ballet Company at Bolshoi Theatre, the Classic and Modern Choreography Theatre in Moscow, the Russian Classical Ballet Theatre, the Classical and Modern Choreography Theatre, and the Russian Ballet of the 21st Century.  

Petrichenko and Chumakov have been principal dancers with the Crown of Russia Ballet since 2001.  Their repertoire includes leading roles in:

  • Swan Lake
  • Don Quixote
  • Sleeping Beauty
  • Paquita
  • The Nutcracker

In addition, they are principal dancers with the Magdeburg Opera and Ballet Theatre in Germany and with the Russian Theatre in Berlin.  Petrichenko and Chumakov have traveled and worked in multiple countries including the United States, Argentina, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Qatar and Spain.
