Maine Central Institute (MCI) will be holding their Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, June 3rd, at noon on the Boutelle Savage front campus (rain location: Wright Gymnasium) at 295 Main Street in Pittsfield. Elspeth Taylor is this year's Valedictorian and Anna Simeone is Salutatorian for the Class of 2018.
Daughter of Eric and Jacqueline Taylor of Pittsfield, Elspeth played goalie for four years on the MCI Field Hockey team (which won Class C State Championships in 2017). She played first clarinet in Concert band and Jazz band, and participated in various drama performances throughout high school. Throughout her four years at MCI, Elspeth has traveled extensively with MCI students throughout Europe.
Anna, daughter of John Simeone '85 and Pascon Brambilla of Burnham, co-founded MCI's first varsity swim team and served as captain during her junior and senior years, reached the Platinum level of competition, won the 2017 Girls Outstanding Swimmer Award, and various awards and ribbons. She was an editor/art director for the school literary magazine, Masardis, and was a member of Key Club, Student Council, Yearbook, and Coding Club. Throughout her years at MCI, Anna has traveled with MCI students to Japan as part of MCI's Aomori Club.
MCI will hold a number of end-of-year events to celebrate the Class of 2018. Senior Chapel will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 1, in Wright Gymnasium. MCI will host a brunch for all seniors and their families from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on June 3 at Savage Family Dining Room. Commencement for the Class of 2018 will begin at noon.
