Tyson Thompson Recognized at Model UN Conference

Earlier this month, MCI junior Tyson Thompson was recognized at the Maine Model United Nations Conference as Best Delegate for his work over three days of debate, discussion, and collaboration

At the state Model United Nations Conference, the MCI Model UN delegation has the difficult but exciting task of representing their countries, themselves, and MCI as a whole across 6 different committees. While all student delegates performed admirably and should be proud of their achievements, there is a special congratulations in order for junior Tyson Thompson, who hit the ground running, representing the Bahamas in the General Assembly.

The General Assembly is the largest committee, where it takes a lot of effort to stand out. However, Tyson rose to the challenge and was awarded the Diplomacy award in the General Assembly, which is awarded to the Best Delegate in the committee, as awarded by the chairs. This feat is extremely difficult to achieve, and can be likened to a state championship in the field of diplomacy. In the past decade, there has only been one other MCI student to achieve this honor, and it is fitting that Tyson's work is recognized on the biggest stage. Congratulations to Tyson and thank you for continuing to represent MCI on the local and global stage!
