Educational Technician I

Part-time (28 hours per week) position open for the 2019-20 academic year. Responsibilities include assisting students in grades 9 - 12 in all high school subjects and working with students in a variety of mainstream classes. Maine Central Institute (MCI) is looking for a candidate who is positive, flexible and willing to learn. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training in behavior. The candidate must be able to work independently. The work environment is highly team oriented, so communication and problem solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least a high school diploma or GED; additional post-secondary coursework and degree preferred.
  • Must hold current Ed Tech I State certification along with current State DOE authorization.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be willing to be trained as per safety care and protocol.
  • Proficiency in use of instructional technology is desired.
  • Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, peers, and supervisors.
