This part-time (28 hours per week) position is open for the 2021-2022 academic year. Responsibilities include assisting students in grades 9 - 12 in all high school subjects and working with students in a variety of mainstream classes. Maine Central Institute (MCI) is looking for a candidate who is positive, flexible and willing to learn. Preference will be given to those with prior experience or training in behavior. The candidate must be able to work independently. The work environment is highly team oriented, so communication and problem solving skills are essential.
Qualifications
● Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED; additional post-secondary coursework and degree preferred.
● Candidates must hold current Ed Tech I State certification along with current State DOE authorization.
● Candidates must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 40 pounds.
● Candidates must be willing to be trained as per safety care and protocol.
● Proficiency in use of instructional technology.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, peers, and supervisors.

Maine Central Institute (MCI) is immediately hiring a full-time team player who is an HVAC Tech with boiler experience. Our team has a wide range of experience and training to fulfill many responsibilities on campus.
We serve the students and staff daily in the repair of damage/worn out objects, preventive maintenance, we assist staff, coordinate activities and encourage one another. The team works closely with the school
community in the daily preparation of school activities.
MCI is a town academy serving approximately 370 students. We have three dormitory buildings housing about
90 students from Maine to international students. There are about 70 full-time faculty and staff members.
Requirements for applicants:
*Must have HVAC and plumbing experience - 1 year minimum (preferred)
*Must have boiler repair experience – 5 years minimum (preferred).
*Must have a valid State of Maine Oil Burner Technician license #1 & 2 oils up to 15 GPH minimum or obtain
the license within six months.
*Must have a valid Maine Propane and Natural Gas License or obtain within six months.
*Must possess a clean driver's license.
*Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferences:
*Working knowledge of heat pumps, maintenance and installation or willing to get training.
*Prefer applicant to have 5 years’ experience with hot water, steam and hot air heating systems.
*Propane knowledge a definite plus.
*Must have troubleshooting capabilities.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work location:
On our spacious campus in all of our 19 total buildings; residential dorms, gymnasiums, administrative,
classrooms and homes.
Other:
*Perform preventative maintenance in an effort to increase efficiencies and reduce downtime.
*Perform minor installation or modification work on heating and cooling systems and controls, including
planning the work; ordering materials and service the equipment required.
*Ability to use hand tools and testing/measuring devices.
*Ability to accurately maintain equipment inventory and history records.
*Ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
*Must be able to respond to after-hour call-ins.
*Participate in on-call duty rotation.
*Ability to drive a plow truck or tractor and shovel snow when needed.
*Good communication skills.
*Capable of independent work.
*Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
*Must work well with others.
*Must have regular and punctual attendance.

Summary:
This position reports to the Director of Dining Services and to the Chef. The
Director or Chef may assign other duties as required. This is a full time position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Knife Skills
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment
· Practice safe food handling techniques
· Be able to work occasional weekdays and late evenings
· Be able to provide supervision for a staff of up to three or four employees
· Be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
· Be able to load and unload catering equipment including but not limited to Cambro units and folding tables.
· Be able to lift dining room chairs on to tables when needed
· Must be able to drive van/truck with staff and freight to catering locations
· Must have a valid residential driver’s license with a safe driving record.
· Must have standard first aid training.
Preferred education and/or experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years’
supervisory experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Communication Skills:
Ability to analyze and comprehend simple instructions, warning labels, safety information, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other school employees and children. Employee must be able to work with tools and operate equipment as necessary to accomplish the essential functions of this job.

Responsibilities:

Robotics Camp Instructor
Maine Central Institute is seeking a Robotics Instructor for its Summer STEAM Camp. The position has a start date of Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 21.
This position is ideal for teachers and graduate students focused on education, STEM, and robotics. The Robotics instructor will have access to VEX EXP Classroom Kits, Sphero Bolt power pack, and Sphero Indi class pack. Responsibilities include modifying VEX based robotics curriculum to fit the summer schedule, leading 6 daily robotics sessions, and ensuring an inclusive learning environment for all students.
