Planned Giving

Expand your Legacy. Impact MCI's Future.
A planned gift benefits MCI at the future point in time. Unlike an outright gift that provides MCI full benefit upon receipt, a planned gift defers the School’s use of transferred assets until the death of a donor or until the end of a specific period of time. MCI offers several charitable gift planning services to alumni, parents and friends. We can help you explore an option that will allow you and your family to make a great difference to present and future MCI generations.
Explore the Planned Giving options we have below, and please contact the Advancement Office at (207) 487- 5915 or alumni@mci-school.org for more info on how you can impact the future of MCI.
How You Can Give:

Cash
One of the most common ways to make a gift to MCI is to write a check, make a gift using a credit card, or donate online using our secure giving forms.

Stocks & Bonds
Giving appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year is one of the most tax-advantaged ways to make charitable gifts. You can reduce your capital gains tax while supporting MCI.

Bequests
A bequest is a gift provision in your will or revocable living trust. All assets, including cash, securities, real estate, and tangible personal property, may be transferred to MCI at the end of your life.

Real Estate
A gift of real estate allows you to preserve your cash assets, receive tax and income advantages, and make a significant charitable gift to Bates.

Retirement Assets
A gift of your retirement assets, such as an employee retirement plan, IRA, or tax-sheltered annuity, is an great way to make a gift. These gifts can shield your heirs from taxes while funding MCI's future.

Life Insurance
Life insurance is a valuable asset for making a charitable gift. You can make a gift of a life insurance policy without diminishing other investments or assets earmarked for family members.
MCI Heritage Society
The Heritage Society recognizes and thanks those who have included the School in their will or estate plans. Members of the Heritage Society are listed in annual donor reports and Heritage Society promotions. We are grateful to the many members who invite you to join them in remembering MCI. To join the Heritage Society, simply confirm in writing that you have included MCI in your will or estate plans. If you have already included MCI in your gift planning and wish to be included as a member of the Heritage Society, please contact the Advancement Office at (207) 487-5915 or alumni@mci-school.org.
