2016 Inductee Bios

Pamela Newhouse Dufour ’77 was class vice president as a sophomore and junior and won the Faculty Cup as well as Athlete of the Year recognition as a senior. She played on the field hockey team for three years, and softball as a sophomore and junior. She was on the track team as a senior. She received the Tuesday Club award her senior year. She was a trumpet staff member three years and was a member of student council her junior and senior years. She was selected to Girls State as a junior and was a member of the band as a sophomore and junior. Dufour played field hockey and basketball at UMPI, receiving the Female Athlete of the Year award her senior year. She coached field hockey and basketball at Georges Valley High School, then field hockey and track at Lawrence High School. Dufour, who has taught PE for 33 years, works as a physical education instructor at George Mitchell School in Waterville. She was a recipient of the Waterville Schools Board of Education Faculty Award.


Dalen Mills ’66 was class president as a senior and played on the undergraduate basketball and baseball teams as a sophomore and junior. He led the basketball team in scoring both years (sophomore 16.7 ppg and junior 21.1 ppg). He also led the Huskies in hitting (.345 and .361) his two years on the baseball team. He started on the PG basketball team as a 5th year senior and was second in scoring. He was a member of the famous 1965 MCI basketball team which was the first MCI team to play in the Eastern Maine tournament. After MCI he attended UMaine-Farmington, and lettered in baseball, basketball and golf as a freshman and sophomore. He earned a UMF letter jacket (lettering in at least two different sports for two years to qualify), which was a rare accomplishment for a sophomore. He also lettered in basketball, baseball and cross country at Pemetic High School in SW Harbor before attending MCI in 1963. Mills had a successful propane and heating oil business in Southwest Harbor before retirement in 2001.


Michael Susi ’75 was a three-year letter winner in football and basketball, serving as captain of both his senior year. The football team was Class D state champions in 1974 and the basketball team played in the Class B tournament as a 5th seed. He joined the PG team after completion of his high school season and the PG team went on to win the New England Prep School Championship for the first time since the 1950s. He also lettered in baseball as a junior and senior. He was a three-year member of the Key Club and went to Boys State as a junior. He won the Gary S. Dupill Sportsmanship Award. He was class treasurer as a sophomore and class president as a junior. Susi coached Boys Varsity Basketball on two separate occasions, and was a girls basketball assistant to Julie Treadwell. He was instrumental in the football boosters and there is a football award/scholarship named in his honor.
