![]() Greetings MCI Alumni, Family, and Friends,
I hope you and your families had a safe holiday season as we usher in the new year. We had about thirty students on campus throughout the entire break. Faculty and staff worked extra time to provide students with as much "home sweet home" as possible despite the challenges of these times. The break ended with a delightful snowfall, which allowed students the opportunity to sled the backside hills of campus. And speaking of snowfall, we have begun planning for the 2021 Winter Carnival. Creative minds are at work to come up with new outdoor events and games that keep everyone distanced and safe while embracing the spirit of this annual event. If you have any suggestions, please send them our way. Regarding athletics, some of our winter sports are underway. Home contests will be video streamed. For a complete schedule, please visit our website or/and the MCI Athletics FB page. Not all sports are starting at this time, and dates are always changing, so be sure to check regularly.
Our second Zoom Trivia Night is slated for January 30 at 7:00 pm. We had twelve participants in our first challenge and are hoping for many more of you to participate. We are always looking for more activities for local and distant alumni, and if you have some ideas, please let us know. We are still looking for more class agents as some classes are missing representatives. Please feel free to reach out to the Alumni Association officers, to me, to Tom, to Sharon, to whoever you feel connected with at the school. You can follow the happenings of the Association on their MCI Alumni Association Facebook, the MCI Facebook, @MCI Twitter, @MCI.School Instagram, or our frequently updated Website.
Finally, I remind you that February 1, 2021, will be our Day of Giving (chosen on the founding of MCI, February 1, 1866). You should have received a postcard from us, and another will be following soon. Your financial contributions to MCI truly help us provide the very best teachers, programs, and equipment for the next generation of MCI alumni. Let's make this year, 2021, the best in terms of number of participants. You can mail your contribution to 295 Main Street, Pittsfield, ME 04967 or contribute on-line. Speaking for all of us at MCI, I thank you in advance for your generosity. ©2020 Maine Central Institute, 295 Main Street, Pittsfield, Maine 04967 |
