Natalya Nikolaevna Getman was born in Russia. By the age of ten, she was selected by the Olympic coach of the USSR to join the Soviet Olympic Gymnastics Team — an experience that forged her discipline and exceptional physical foundation. She is part of the Vaganova lineage through her teacher Musaeva, National Artist of the Soviet Union and former student of Balikova, one of Agrippina Vaganova’s latest disciples. She later studied at the Vaganova Academy under Kovaleva and graduated with honors from the Uzbek Choreographic School.

Her professional career began as a soloist and principal dancer at the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Turkmenistan, performing leading roles such as Zarema in The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, Myrta in Giselle, the Queen of Dreams in Don Quixote, and the Lady in Lady and a Hooligan. She later joined the Moscow Ballet, where she worked with renowned masters such as Ludmila Semenyaka, Mikhail Lavrosky, and Anatoly Golovan, touring extensively throughout countries including Turkey, Spain, Taiwan, Israel, and China with repertory classics such as Swan Lake, Paquita, The Nutcracker, and The Golden Key. In 1999, Getman arrived to the United States, where she danced and taught choreography to children across more than 50 U.S. cities, preparing them to perform in children’s roles alongside professional dancers in The Nutcracker productions. In 2000, she joined Bossov Ballet Theatre in Maine, first as an instructor and, since 2013, as Artistic Director. Under her leadership, BBT became an internationally recognized pre-professional ballet program, attracting students from around the world. Her work spans from teaching the Vaganova technique to directing complete classical and original productions. 

Inspired by a deep respect for the American way of life, Getman has made it her mission to combine the best of it with the beauty and logic of Russian ballet roots, forming a new generation of dancers capable of meeting the highest standards of current dance. Her unrivaled talent in choreographic and stage composition, along with her commitment and charisma, are trademarks of her teaching — one that reaches far beyond the classroom, shaping dancers who are upright, dedicated, ethical, and generous artists.

Andrea Michaud Tracy is a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, and dance adjudicator.
She danced with the Portland Ballet Company for over 10 years as a principal dancer, and today continues her work as an educator and choreographer across ballet, contemporary, musical theater, classical jazz, and commercial heels.

She received a significant part of her early training as one of Andrei Bossov’s first American students, beginning in 1992 and continuing for over a decade. During that time, she also performed in many of the ballets he created, including as his partner in several works. In 1996, she furthered her studies in the Balanchine technique at the School of American Ballet in New York City, and was selected as one of six dancers to represent the United States at the 2nd Japan International Ballet & Modern Dance Competition.

Andrea returned to Bossov Ballet Theatre in the early 2000s as a member of the faculty, teaching ballet and jazz, while continuing to perform principal roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire. She later served as Ballet Mistress at Kennebec Dance Center (formerly Encore Dance Center) for 20 years, working closely with Keltie Collins, and has been on faculty at Stage Presence for Dancers for the past nine years.

For the past decade, she has also worked as a national dance adjudicator for competitions across the United States.
Her experience spans a wide range of styles, shaped through years of performance, teaching, and mentorship.

Andrea returned to BBT as part of the summer guest faculty last year, and we are very glad to welcome her back again this season.

Vladimir was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He began his early training at a pre-professional performing arts school, where he studied choreography, music, ballet, and character dance. He was later selected to continue his training at the Uzbek Choreographic School, the same institution from which Natalya Getman graduated. Although they trained there in different years and did not know each other at the time, they later met while working with the Moscow Ballet.

Following his graduation, Vladimir joined the Russian Ballet Twenty-First Century in Moscow, where he performed both as a member of the corps de ballet and as a soloist. He later worked with various professional companies across Russia and participated in international tours, including with the Moscow Ballet, performing throughout the United States and abroad. His career has taken him across Europe, Asia, and North America, and has also included stage work in the United States, including the biggest productions in Las Vegas.

Vladimir has been a member of the Bossov Ballet Theatre Summer Faculty for the past eight years. In addition to his teaching, he is a valued presence on stage in BBT productions, performing character roles such as Albrecht’s father in Giselle, Kitri’s father in Don Quixote, Von Rothbart and the Duke in Swan Lake, the King in The Sleeping Beauty, and Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliet.
His work on stage consistently brings strength and depth to BBT's productions.

As a teacher, Vladimir is known for his attentive and generous approach, bringing a strong sense of care and commitment, creating an environment that balances discipline with support.

Born in Mexico, Guillermo Franco is a Mexican psychologist, actor, creator, and dancer. He graduated from the International School of Theater Creation and Movement CABUIA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and from the Universidad Latinoamericana in Mexico City.

His first contact with the stage world happened through musical theater, where he was drawn to the possibility of training in dance, acting, and singing simultaneously. He started his training at Artestudio Performing Arts Center in Mexico City, where he developed a strong connection to classical dance.

Starting in 2016, Guillermo began collaborating as a dancer and actor with Bossov Ballet Theatre in productions such as Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Swan Lake. He later served as Stage Manager for BBT’s productions of The Nutcracker in 2018 and 2019 at the Waterville Opera House, and has been a Physical Theater Instructor for the past six years. In 2022, he joined BBT as Program Manager.

His long-standing interest in human development began at an early age, and has continued for over 16 years, leading him to explore Depth and Transpersonal Psychology alongside his formal training. This foundation carries into his approach to performance, particularly in his exploration of the psychophysical dimensions of theatrical embodiment and character work, as well as in his work supporting the artistic and structural development of the program.
