After School Program

The BBT Afternoon Program offers structured classical ballet training rooted in the Vaganova method for students who wish to train after school day.

While separate from the year-round pre-professional program at Maine Central Institute, the Afternoon Program reflects the same artistic standards and pedagogical foundation that define Bossov Ballet Theatre. It serves both as a stand-alone classical training track and as a developmental pathway for dancers who may later audition for the BBT year-round high school program.

Classes are held in the evenings and are organized by level and age, with increasing technical demands and time commitment as students progress.

All students must audition for placement.

Levels & Weekly Commitment

Beginners [Ages 4+]
• 1 class per week (45 minutes)
• Introduction to classical ballet fundamentals under the Vaganova method
• Focus on posture, coordination, musicality, and foundational discipline

Annual Tuition (2025-26): $495
Monthly Option: $55

Ballet 1 [Ages 6+]
• 1 class per week (60 minutes)
• Continued development of classical technique
• Introduction to structured combinations and deeper foundational work

Annual Tuition (2025-26): $675
Monthly Option: $75

Ballet 2 [9+]
• 4-5 classes per week (90 minutes each)
• Expanded classical technique
• Pre-pointe / pointe work (as appropriate)
• Character dance and strengthening exercises
• Increased technical and artistic expectations

Annual Tuition (2025-26): $1,800
Monthly Option: $200

As dancers advance, both the technical rigor and the time commitment increase, preparing students for the discipline required of pre-professional study.

Students in the Afternoon Program may be eligible to participate in BBT productions, depending on level, readiness, and casting decisions made by Artistic Direction.

Auditions & Placement

Dancers of various ages and levels are welcome to apply.

Auditions are required for placement in Ballet 1 and Ballet 2. The Beginners level does not require an audition.

Both in-person and video auditions are accepted.
For detailed audition guidelines, please refer to the Audition Process section of our Year-Round Program information.

All students — including drop-in participants — must complete an audition for proper level placement.

Drop-In Option

A drop-in class option is available for dancers seeking supplemental training or greater scheduling flexibility.

Drop-In Rate: $25 per class

Drop-in participation requires prior placement through audition.

Tuition and class structure may be adjusted annually depending on level placement and weekly scheduling.

Pathway to the Year-Round Program

The Afternoon Program provides a clear progression toward the BBT pre-professional year-round program at Maine Central Institute.

Dancers who demonstrate readiness, technical development, and commitment may be admitted into the integrated academic and ballet training model offered at MCI, where students combine professional-level classical training with high school education.
