Bossov Ballet Theatre's six-week intensive summer program is designed to replicate a professional company performance experience by participating in a full-scale production that takes students from the classroom to the stage. In addition to an intense focus on technical development provided by a carefully selected group of Vaganova teaching professionals, the artistry and performance skills acquired from participating in a full length, professional-level production creates students ready for company success.
In addition, the program provides comprehensive Russian training with a strong emphasis on technique, pointe, partnering, variation and character.

June 19th to July 29th, 2023
The six-week intensive culminates with a full-scale performance at a professional theatre. Two public performances are held at the end of the Intensive. Productions staged over the past four years include Giselle, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. In 2023 we will present a full-scale production of two one-act ballets: Carmen & Chopiniana.
Classes and rehearsals are held Monday through Friday, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m., with a break for lunch. The following courses are available:
- Men's Technique
- Pilates/Stretch & Conditioning
- Physical Theater and Improvisation
There may be additional rehearsals on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Summer weekends are mainly dedicated to optional recreational activities that explore the beautiful state of Maine or allow students to simply relax on campus. In past summers, students participated in fencing, astronomy parties, carriage rides through Acadia National Park, canoeing, outdoor adventure, nature exploration, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, plein air fine art lessons, and worked on team-building skills on a low ropes course in Freeport.
