Postgraduate (PG) Year
Discover Your Path. Prepare for Your Future. Thrive at MCI.
A Postgraduate (PG) Year at Maine Central Institute is a transformative life-changing opportunity for students seeking to bridge the gap between high school and college - or between high school and a professional ballet career. Whether you’re preparing for university studies in the United States, exploring new academic passions, or pursuing intensive ballet training with Bossov Ballet Theatre, MCI’s PG Year provides the time, guidance, and community to help you thrive.
A Year of Purpose & Growth
The PG year program at MCI offers extensive academic opportunities. Students can take Advanced Placement (AP) courses, college preparatory classes, and earn concurrent college credit through partner universities. Our dedicated College and Career Counseling Office works closely with students to explore potential majors, strengthen applications, and build clear pathways to higher education or career goals.
SAT preparation, English language support, and a focus on critical skills such as leadership, organization, and self-advocacy prepare students to succeed in a university setting.
Students also benefit from internships, community service, and leadership opportunities in athletics, visual arts, performing arts, and student organizations - experiences that build both resumes and character. MCI's vibrant community life also offers endless ways to grow socially and personally - building independence, resilience, and lifelong friendships in a safe and welcoming environment.
