STEM Camp at MCI

students working on engineering projects

In an ever-changing, increasingly complex world, it’s more important than ever before that students are prepared to bring knowledge and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions.

These are the kinds of skills that students develop in science, technology, engineering and math—disciplines collectively known as STEM. Click here to view the STEM Camp Flyer

If we want future leaders, neighbors, and workers to have the ability to understand and solve some of the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, and to meet the demands of the dynamic and evolving workforce, building students’ skills, content knowledge, and fluency in STEM fields is essential. Topics that will be covered

Each week, students attending STEM camp will be exposed to a different theme by professionals and teachers who work in that particular discipline. Students can pick and choose which weeks to attend, or they can attend them all! Students will have the chance to select from a small number of activities based on the theme of the week.

Why MCI?

Founded in 1866, MCI is a leader in innovative and creative thinking. The town of Pittsfield is home to many corporations in the STEM disciplines.  Combined with MCI’s outstanding laboratory facilities on campus that includes 3D printers, a greenhouse, and a building currently using geothermal energy, our local professionals offer other venues and laboratory experiences.

We are fortunate to have access to a local airfield, and our week focusing on aeronautical engineering and flight promises to be a truly unique experience.
