Parents' Weekend

Parents' Weekend takes place every year in October. During the weekend, there are opportunities for parents to tour the campus, meet teachers and faculty, eat in the Savage Family Dining Room and experience the MCI community.

Families are welcome to reach out directly to teachers to request conferences if unable to attend Parents’ Weekend. Boarding students’ families may choose to work with their child’s academic counselor for assistance in scheduling conferences.

Student with last names beginning with A-G see Karin Parsons; H-N, Kirsten Pomeroy; and O-Z, Scott Giallombardo. If you have any questions about these conferences, please do not hesitate to contact the Academic Office at (207) 487-4453.

Mid-terms Exams

Mid-term axams occur in January after students return from winter break. Over three days, students take extended exams on subjects they studied in the previous semester.

This year, mid-terms were planned for January 16 -18, 2019.

Final Exams

While graduating seniors take their final exams before graduation, all other classes take final exams during the week following graduation. The final days of school include a community service day and exam make-ups, if needed.

The finals for 2019 are scheduled for June 5 to June 7.

Commencement

Every spring, MCI honors the hard work of our seniors while recognizing those who have supported them with Commencement on MCI’s tree-lined Boutelle Savage Lawn. (In inclement weather, Commencement is held at MCI's Wright Gym.) Graduating seniors receive tickets for their guests, and MCI provides areas for unreserved seating.

The School community celebrates graduation with a series of events (class trip, senior chapel, and graduation brunch) leading to Commencement. Plans are underway for the 2019 Commencement scheduled for Sunday, June 2. Click here to view a schedule of events.

The 2018 Maine Central Institute Commencement was held on Sunday, June 3, on the Boutelle Savage Lawn. Click here to view photos of the event.
