Strategic Plan: Producing Sustainable Excellence

Colleagues, Trustees, Parents, Students, Perspective Students/Parents and Friends of MCI:
Maine Central Institute has embarked on an 18th month process to brainstorm, develop, and publish the 2010-2015 strategic plan to fulfill our school mission and continue to meet the needs of our aspiring students from around the world. MCI will be guided by the goals and objectives outlined in the strategic plan which will ensure students graduate from MCI with a strong educational and social background and go on to many future successes as leaders and contributors to their communities.
With the assistance of the Administrative Team, we have selected eleven different areas of our school to research and enhance to guide our strategic plan. Led by faculty and trustee co-chairs, each subcommittee is comprised of faculty, staff, students, trustees, parents, and community members who are spending the fall months drafting recommendations to be part of the strategic plan.
Throughout the spring of 2010, our Board of Trustees as well as the entire MCI community will provide feedback of the draft of the strategic plan. The subcommittees will provide a final version of recommendations to the co-chairs in late spring, and our goal is to publish the 2010-2015 strategic plan in June of 2010 following our June board meeting. After approval from the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Team will work steadily to implement the recommendations from the subcommittees and work toward achieving the strategic plan goals over the next five years.
The work of the subcommittees thus far has been truly exemplary. The dedicated individuals serving on these subcommittees have offered innovative ideas which will help shape the future of MCI. Please let us know if you have any questions as we move forward with the strategic planning process, Producing Sustainable Excellence, throughout the next several months.
Sincerely, Co-Chairs of the 2010-2015 Strategic Planning Process
