Bossov Ballet Theatre

Bossov Ballet Theatre is MCI's resident ballet company. An independent corporation with its own National Board of Directors, the theatre is both a performing company and an international ballet school.

BBT founders named the theatre and school for Andrei Bossov, the company's first Artistic Director, who continues to serve.  He is a 20-year veteran of performing internationally with St. Petersburg's Kirov Ballet, in which he attained ballet's highest rank, Principal Dancer, at the early age of twenty-one, only two years after joining the company.  Only five percent of the company's dancers were carried as principals and only one percent of all who auditioned for the Kirov when Andrei auditioned were accepted.  Andrei exacts of his students the uncompromising excellence that was demanded of him -- in a word, professionalism.

The Bossov troupe includes dancers of many ages and levels of experience. While MCI dancers receive full academic credit for ballet training during the academic day, they may also train after school with professional dancers who come to Bossov to appear in guest roles. The experience of performing on stage with large casts of older and younger dancers is an invaluable opportunity for aspiring dancers.
